INTEGRATION SERVICES

CIAI offers on-going integration services to all immigrants and refugees, and supports them in becoming self-sufficient, independent, active participants in the Canadian society.

Settlement Services include:

• Referrals to housing providers e.g. BC Housing
• Referrals to community service providers e.g. Welfare
• Referrals to educational institutions e.g. elementary, tertiary, continuing ed.
• Translation and interpretation

Community Integration Services include:

• Direction to social and recreational activities
• Direction to ethnic shops
• Direction to hair dressers

Educational Workshops

• Computer classes
• English as a second language (ESL) classes
• French
• Public speaking
• Financial literacy

EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE SERVICES (EAS)

The Centre has a well-equipped resource centre that is open to the public for job search. The Centre boasts state-of-the-art computers, an up-to-date job board, and a comfortable open environment conducive to successful job search. Other resources include High speed Internet, printers, fax and photocopier. Users of the Centre can also have email accounts established.

New Types of Initiatives

The Center of Integration is very proud to start hosting career fairs. Career fairs are an excellent opportunity for The Center to develop relationships with employers while meeting the needs of job seekers in the community. CIAI’s recently held career fair was extremely successful, attracting over 810 people.
